Cashiers comes alive every spring as the area arts & crafts shows and festivals begin. Don’t miss out!
The Rotary Club of Cashiers Valley holds two arts and crafts fairs each year – one during Memorial Day weekend, and one during Labor Day weekend. Both fairs showcase some of the finest artists and craftspeople in the southeast and are held rain or shine at the Village Green in Cashiers.
Pottery, artworks, furniture, quilts, jewelry, clothing, homemade jams and relishes, and more are offered by approximately 60 carefully selected vendors. The Rotary Club of Cashiers Valley also runs a concessions stand with hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, chips, and drinks for sale. All proceeds from food sales benefit local Rotary programs and community service efforts.
Admission to the fair is free; however attendees are asked to consider making a donation to the Cashiers Rotary Club Charities, to support the Club's ongoing efforts to provide assistance for recognized non-profit organizations doing good work in our community. Donation points are scattered throughout the fairgrounds.
Held each year as the leaves begin to change, this family-friendly event has grown tremendously since its inception in 2009. More than 100 juried artists and merchants offer their unique goods throughout the Village Commons and the Village Green, making this the largest festival of the year in the Cashiers area. Visitors are kept entertained by live music from noon to 5:00pm at both stages in the park, and food and drinks are available.
The event is held on a Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine. Admission is free.
The Sapphire Valley Arts & Crafts Show is held twice during the summer – the first taking place on a Saturday and Sunday at the end of June, and the second taking place on a Saturday and Sunday in the beginning of August – and then a third indoor show is held in early December at the Sapphire Community Center.
Hosted by Sapphire Valley Resort, the summer shows take place outside on the athletic field, rain or shine, from 10:00am-4:00pm each day.
Handmade crafts, furniture, jewelry and art are just some of the items you will find at the fair, along with live music and hot dogs, hamburgers and cold drinks to satisfy your hunger. Don’t leave without stopping to play with the adorable, adoptable shelter pets on display from the Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society – you might even find your new best friend there!
