The very popular summer concert series "Groovin' on the Green' continues this year with many great musical acts! Concerts are held rain or shine and feature not only great regional musical talent, but locally provided food and beverages.
The Village Green is a 12.5 acre park located in the heart of Cashiers, North Carolina, at the crossroads of Highway 64 and Highway 107. The park began in 1992, when a motel chain purchased two acres of land at the southwest corner of the crossroads. Dismayed at the prospect of losing their village atmosphere, three residents - Al Balestiere, Elizabeth Davenport and John Lupton - purchased the land from the motel firm and gave it to a nonprofit charitable corporation for the Cashiers community.
Hosting thousands of visitors and more than 80 events each year, The Village Green is not only the heart of Cashiers due to its location, but also for its ability to draw family and friends together in the community. It is a special place where people and nature meet.
